Being the least crafty person in the blogosphere, I was forced to skip the Everybody, Everywear DIY challenge. But there was no way I was skipping the tights of color challenge. Not that I need a reason to wear these teal tights:
These tights are definitely some of my favorite. I paired the tights (Hue via Macy’s) with a black sweater dress (Madison Leigh via Macy’s) layered over a print skirt (thrifted & re-fashioned, also worn here). I added black wedge booties (Nine West “Peekaboo” via Piperlime) and a vintage belt (thrifted).
I think this belt has the coolest buckle:
It’s oxidized* brass and was in this condition when I found it. Instead of trying to clean it up, I sprayed it with clear spray paint to protect the oxidation and to keep it from rubbing off on my clothes.
Want to see more tights of color? Visit Everybody, Everywear and enjoy the rainbow.
Happy Tuesday, Everyone!

Full Disclosure: I think oxidized is the right word, but I’m not a scientist (I don’t even play one on TV) so if I’m using the wrong word, please let me know in the comments.

Love it and your belt buckle is just perfect :) And you say you don't do DIY!
ReplyDeleteOne of my favorites, by far!!! That belt is sooo cool - great tip to spray it so as to keep it from rubbing off on your clothes. I really really love the layers in this - it makes me want to figure out a way to layer a skirt under a dress of mine!!!
ReplyDeleteI wanted to participate in EBEW, but somehow missed the pick...and the most colorful tights I have are gray...not sure if that counts, ha! Do love your teal ones :)
I like how you used a printed floral skirt as a slip! I may have to try this. Your teal tights are awesome by the way :)
ReplyDeleteI think you're correct in referring to it as oxidization--and either way, it's super cool. I'm glad you were able to preserve it!
ReplyDeleteI completely forgot EBEW was today, and my outfit post is going to be completely sans tights. Good thing I wore magenta tights yesterday! Cheater cheater pumpkin eater, but at least it's only one day off.
I also forgot all about EBEW! But I love your look, the dress layered over the skirt is fab. Love that belt, too.
ReplyDeleteGosh, I love teal and black worn together. You look fantastic, and I really love how you protected the oxidised finish (if that's the word, no scientist either) on the belt buckle. You've got a one-of-a-kind there.
ReplyDeleteI really love that you layered the dress over the printed skirt! And yes, the tights are really awesome :)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful outfit. Love the layering and great idea for the belt Gracey..so artsy. Go winner. Dawn Suitcase Vignettes
ReplyDeleteI am SO BAD at EBEW. I want to do it every month, and each and everyone, I end up being surprised when it shows up! >_>
ReplyDeleteThat belt buckle is way way too awesome. Good thinking on preserving the awesome finish rather than cleaning it up!
That belt is so cool! =) I would've done exactly the same thing, but then I loved oxidized copper!
ReplyDeletethose tights are a fabulous color, and I agree, the belt buckle is pretty cool.

I love how the belt turned color! WOW! Looks like turquoise! You look so cute! Love those tights! Hue is my fave brand! Kiah
ReplyDeleteLove the layered skirts, lady!
ReplyDeleteWhat an awesome belt! Being a history/archaeology major, I have to appreciate that lovely patina ;) Those tights are AWESOMELY cobalt, by the way--absolutely in love with that shade.

That's a pretty sweet belt buckle! I have a similar pair of teal tights that I really need to wear. This challenge has definitely reminded me of that.
ReplyDeleteI love color tights and textured ones. You should win this hands down. Love the blue one's you are wearing. Very pretty knit dress. You look pretty! :D

Ha, i wore similar tights :) Loving the color on you and with those ankle boots - great! Sad that you hide that pretty skirt though!!
ReplyDeleteGotta love that color. The tights and the belt. Great.
ReplyDeleteI HEART HUE Tights! They are the bestest, most durable tights ever! This shade looks great on you-- and I love the blues on the belt buckle!

I missed EBEW because it was almost 70 yesterday here in DC! But your blue legs are just dynamite. And I would have saved the buckle pattern, too!
ReplyDeletedress over a skirt is a fabulous idea! I like the floral skirt peeping from under ...so cute. You are tall enough to do that. I don't have enough legs to do a dress over skirt thing..haha...your colored tights are adorable, I like it with your boots. Yes the buckle is so pretty!
