This skirt is one of three navy blue polka dot skirts that I
own:
I paired this particular navy blue polka dot skirt
(thrifted) with a navy and white striped ¾-sleeve tee (Target) and added a
braided belt (thrifted), espadrille wedges (Corso Como via Piperlime) and my
awesome new vintage apple necklace.
Don’t worry, I didn’t shop. I won
the necklace in a giveaway on the lovely Lori’s blog, A Little Slice of Special. The necklace is from the also very lovely
Marisa’s Etsy shop, Ally Hoot Vintage.
If you haven’t visited Marisa’s shop, stop by. It’s fabulous. And also make sure you stop by Mariss's and Lori’s
blogs too (Marissa’s is The Shades of Monet Chronicles).
Now, back to the skirt.
I have no idea why I have so many navy skirts with white polka
dots. The multiple black skirts I sort
of understood, but this is just silly. Not
that this skirt is silly. No, I think
this skirt is lovely, and I’m going to keep this one. And I think I’ll keep one more too because
both of the other skirts are pleated and it’s totally okay to have two polka
dot skirts as long as one is pleated, right?
Right. And, of the two pleated
skirts, I think probably keep the non-drop waist one.
Before you ask, no, I don’t know why I have so many drop-waist
skirts either; I really don’t like them.
Although, I do have to admit they are good for wearing with un-tucked
tops because there isn’t as much volume around the hips. Okay, so I guess I do know why I have so many… still I’m
getting rid of them because they’re just not that versatile for my particular
closet.
Happy Monday, All!

I own no blue polka-dotted skirts, so send your rejects my way! Haha! I'm really tempted to join you in the land of Nosh Opping. I've really going on a clothes-buying rampage and it needs to stop!

You cannot possibly have too many polka-dot skirts. Or polka-dots in general.
ReplyDeleteI wore stripes and polka-dots today, too! Must've been something in the air.
I love how you mixed prints here! And that they still go great together. Cute cute look! :)

I really like this outfit! Something that I'd totally wear. And I'm beginning to think that you have a bit of a shopping problem...it's a good thing you're cleaning out your closet ; )
ReplyDeleteThis outfit is adorable! And that necklace is perfect. 3 navy polka dotted skirts, eh? Interesting. I can't wait to see the other two!

More Charming In Person
I love my own giant strawberry necklace so much it's ridiculous, and it's not nearly as cool and vintage as yours :) You have THREE polka dot skirts? I. Am. Jealous. I don't even have one, and I love polka dots, too. But I do own three striped boat neck blouses...
ReplyDeleteHave you ever posted a photo of this humongous closet with room for 7 black skirts and three polka dot navy ones?
ReplyDeleteI understand having multiples of something you love. I'm sure each of the skirts has it's own special thing and works in different ways, even though they're so similar. I'm not a white shirt person, but I can imagine that if I were, I'd have many with subtle variations.
ReplyDeleteAll I know is, you look good!!
this is me and striped shirts! not sure how or why i have so many that look pretty much the same! love your pairing here!

Take it from me-- You can never own too many polka dots or stripes. The more the merrier, and when combined together, they're cute as can be. This outfit looks great on you.

You may not think that skirt is silly, Gracey, but you haven't heard the knock-knock jokes it tells when you're not around. Very silly indeed! It's got the looks, but not the brains. (But that's okay, I'm not going to demand that all your clothing pass an aptitude test.)
